29 - Sunday   Rolling Thunder Arnie has volunteered to lead anyone wanting to go to R. Thunder
He has been the past 10 years and this is a major bike event. There will be over 500,000 bikers and It will be best to get an early start if you don't want to spend lots of time waiting.

Anyone wishing to go down with other club members:
Meet at 8 a.m at the Navy Stadium parking lot in Annapolis. That will give us plenty of time and allow us two options.
If it's clear in the morning we go.. If it's raining at departure time, I'm for canceling. If rain is called for bring gear. Weather being good and leaving that early will let us take the scenic route which would be out Rt. 50 to 495 Beltway (no traffic, just bikes mostly) over to GW parkway and down the parkway to the Pentagon.
It's a great event for our area and you won't see that many bikers anywhere even OC. 1/2 million is what Bike week draws in Daytona. Our Guys should all have our club flags up and American flags up as much as possible.

Option A. Those that want to ride in the parade to the wall should get on the Pentagon parking lot as early as possible. Leaving Annapolis should put us down there at 8:45-9:00 It will be 3/4 full even that early. They line everyone up in rows and first in are first out. If you get there to late you can sit around for hours waiting your turn to depart. We can assess our position and I'll be able to tell you approximately how long a wait there will be just from where they put us on the lot. They don't start pulling out usually until 12.
Option B would be those that would rather park along Constitution Ave and watch the parade. You should bring water, food for lunch cameras and camcorders. They have vendors but the lines are long and stuff is pricey. I think they hand out water but best to bring your own. If you have a cool pack with one of those frozen blue blocks it works.

9 - Saturday   Ride to Gettysburg Bike Rally MdVRA had scheduled a members ride or meet up at the Gettysburg Bike Week . This is a nice local rally that has vendors, music, field events and draws a crowd. Check the link for what's going on this week.
No one has volunteered to lead the ride to the event this Saturday, so if any members want to ride up there together I would suggest that you post something to the members to coordinate meeting somewhere or you could just meet at the Enchanted Forest Shopping Center on Route 40 West and at that time plan a route you will take. There are numerous routes to take either by Highway or good Secondary roads to the event.
If you need any help or information you can contact an Officer or myself and we will help all we can.

Enjoy and Ride Safe.
