and Point of Rocks Ride Leaves Ellicott City, riding thru northern Montgomery and southers Frederick counties, crossing the Potomac River at Whites Ferry ($4 toll one way), proceeding to lunch in Lovettsville, VA. Then we'll cross back over the Potomac River on Rt 15 at Point of Rocks, stop at one or two local sights, and then ride back to Ellicott City for ice cream. Nanjemoy
Loop Ride Leaves Maryland City (east Laurel, Rts 198 and 295). The first 40 miles will be on Rts 295/197/301 just to get south to Brandywine. From there we hit the back roads to run a figure 8 on scenic roads thru Indian Head, Maryland Point, Nanjemoy, Port Tobacco, ending up for lunch at Greene Turtle in La Plata. After lunch, we'll ride east of the Rt 50 corridor, thru places like Hughesville, Patuxent, Aquasco, Popular Hill, Upper Marlboro, Davidsonville, and Crofton, ending back at our starting point. Following lunch, we'll ride north near Edgewater, then make a stop at the Radio and Television Museum of Bowie. From there, we'll continue on thru Crownsville, Severna Park, Riviera Beach (Stoney Creek), and end up for ice cream at Brewster's in Pasadena. Total ride is about 125 miles.
