When are my Club dues due?

Your MdVRA dues are paid on your submittal of your Application. It covers one year membership. Dues thereafter will be paid on a yearly basis and are due on the date your membership was initiated.

What do the Membership Numbers Mean ?

For those of you who are curious, here's how member numbers are assigned.  I'll use my number as an example 1-29-1A-750.

1 = USA
29 = our chapter
1 = first member of chapter, assigned chronologically
A = Vulcan owner;  (B = spouse (Dean), C, D, E etc. = children);  If spouse owns and rides his/her own Vulcan, then he/she may apply to have his/her own membership number.
750 = size of Vulcan; 800s can be "A" or "B" (Classic Cruiser); 1500s can be "A" (mag wheels, 4 speed, twin carb, oval air filter covers (aka bubf) aka Vulcan '88), "B" (wire wheels, exhaust on both sides, round filter covers, aka '88SE), "C" (also called the "L", like "A" but wire wheels and sporty handlebars, gold tank badge & more holes in from rotor), "D" (original 4 speed Classic), "E" (5 speed Classic), "G" (Nomad Touring Cruiser), "J" (Drifter) or "N" (2000 1500FI).

So you see, you can learn quite a bit about a member & their bike by looking at their membership number.

What does HOSTING A RIDE Mean ?

In our initial meeting, and until we change the format by consensus of the members, we decided general meetings would be held in the following manner.

We asked members to volunteer to host a ride , meaning that they would plan a meeting spot for the rest of the group to ride to, and a route that we could ride as a group in, around that area. This could be in the area they live , but this was up to the host.
As we found out, it was very hard to conduct any real Chapter business and planning this way, especially with trying to get the Chapter growing and organized. After all, we all really wanted to Ride not waste time talking over things except what each other had done new to their scoots. The Officers decided that to make the rides more enjoyable that we would have basic information dispensed (as we did before) at the rides, Conduct Officers meetings to do the business and organizational duties separately, and to use the Host Rides to enjoy riding and the company of fellow members. The Officers would be responsible for getting things taken care of , and bringing ideas , and issues from the members to the meetings to be discussed and acted on. Members have the responsibility of contacting any of the Officers with ideas , issues, and concerns they want discussed.
Hey , we are new, and we don't know how this is going to workout but it's a plan. Changeable if desired by the majority of the members. This is also a little history of the Maryland Chapter of the Vulcan Riders Association
A more detailed guide and tips on hosting a ride can be read at TIPS ON HOSTING A RIDE and RULES of the ROAD.

Why can't I open the MdVRA Application, or MdVRA flyer ?

If you are receiving an error when you click on the link to see the Md VRA Flyer, Application, or any file designated as a Acrobat Reader File (extension of PDF) one of two things are occurring.
  1. You do not have the Acrobat Reader program or plugin installed for your browser.
  2. You know you have the software but it is not auto opening the files because something changed the Registered File Type.

The easiest way to correct either situation is to download the most recent version of the program from Adobe and do a reinstall. You also may want to Uninstall an older version prior to the new install if you know how to do this.
I will be providing more and more documents, especially ones you may want to print in this format because it is becoming a standard for document publications , and is hardware independent so everyone should get the same results no matter what printer or even browser or system they are using.
Here is a link to the Adobe Acrobat Down load for your convenience:
